Our National Prayer Week program is the highlight of our faith formation programs from the Missionary Childhood Association. As such, it will feature additional resources centered on the World Mission Rosary. Renamed “Prayer and Penny Week” — honoring the legacy of Pauline Jaricot who encouraged prayers and help for the Missions of her day (including our own country) — this week in March will be a key moment in our efforts to celebrate the Year of Faith (October 2012, Mission Month, through November 2013, Feast of Christ the King). Pope Benedict XVI has asked for prayer to accompany this Year of Faith, specifically the prayer of the World Mission Rosary, created by Venerable Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen. “Prayer and Penny Week” will feature daily reflections and suggestions for centering our prayers and our focus on the call to be missionaries and the needs of our mission family. This year, Prayer and Penny Week takes place March 10-17, 2013.

Jesus, our model of faith,
You show us all that is good and right
And teach us to follow in Your ways.
Help us to always be seeking You as we grow in our faith.
Grant us the courage to share Your message with all those we meet.
Give to us, Lord Jesus, humble hearts.
Give to us, Lord Jesus, hearts for serving, especially those in need.
Inspire all of Your followers to carry Your love to all people.
Move us to bring Your message of hope to all the ends of the earth.
Make us disciples of truth, love, hope, joy and faith.
We ask this through Your good and faithful name.
